We have had some discussion about how magnification leads to pixels being really hot. We looked into how big this problem really is. In the following table we show how many pixels in our CIB maps are above the Planck thresholds:
Unlensed | Lensed 1 + 2 kappa | Lensed 1/(1-kappa)^2 | |
217 GHz | 261 | 262 | 452 |
353 GHz | 1609 | 1608 | 1923 |
545 GHz | 14352 | 14392 | 14906 |
We see that the full magnification does not really blow up the number of super hot pixels, except for the 217 GHz map, where the total number of hot pixels is really small.
